Dear UT Kappa Delta Parents,
The Kappa Delta Parents’ Club is a great opportunity to be part of your
daughter’s sorority life at The University of Texas. The Parents’ Club offers a
unique chance to watch your daughter grow, offer encouragement and support
and develop new friendships with the parents of other Kappa Delta members.
We hope you take this opportunity to join the UT KD Parents’ Club!
The KD Parents’ Club provides assistance for the Sigma Epsilon Chapter’s
activities including: organizing Sunday Brunch during Parents’ weekend in the
fall, supporting Spring parents’ events, helping to decorate the KD house for
Christmas and Parents’ Weekend and supplying the girls with special treat days
throughout the school year (we celebrated with Tiff-Wich ice cream sandwiches
when the girls achieved the highest GPA of UT Greek organizations). We also
support the Chapter’s Philanthropy efforts by sponsoring the annual Shamrock
fundraiser that benefits Prevent Child Abuse America and the local chapter – The
Austin Center for Child Protection.
Our largest volunteer activity is Recruitment. During Recruitment Week, moms
volunteer countless hours in the kitchen and supply snacks for the active
members throughout the busy week. At the end of Recruitment Week, we
donate white roses that are used for a special sisterhood event. Each fall we
organize regional dinners at local restaurants across the state to socialize and
offer advice to new KD moms and at UT graduation in May graduation, we
purchase Kappa Delta cords for our senior girls to wear with their cap and gown.
The annual dues for the Kappa Delta Parents’ Club are $50 and as you can see,
we put that fee to good use each year! Check your email for more information.
I also invite you to join our Facebook group: Texas Kappa Delta Parents’ Club.
If you have questions, please call or e-mail me. I look forward to meeting you.
Hook ‘em Horns!
KD Parents’ Club President
